The Problem
The old store worked, but it sold everything as fixed packages, and every order required a phone call. With inventory expanding and demand rising, the site had to scale and reinvent how it sold its products. The work went beyond a new purchasing model: a full audit, cleanup, and modernization of the systems behind the store.
What I did
- Rebuilt the catalog, product by product. Broke seven packages into 212 individually sold products across seven categories, with filtering and a checkout alert that flags a missing attachment part.
- Partnered closely on the wizard. The client shaped the 1,840-configuration logic; I built it into a five-question engine that returns a best match plus three alternates, iterating together throughout.
- Streamlined the tech stack. Audited and modernized the underlying system, trimming a bloated plugin load and cleaning up the database to keep the growing store fast and maintainable.
- Everything in between. Redirection mapping, content rewrites, migration, and client comms through launch: the unglamorous work that makes a redesign land.

The Result
What launched is fast, modern, and ready to scale. The old seven-package system is gone, replaced by a logical purchasing model, a clean new design, and a catalog broad enough to serve customers the original store never reached.
"Everything in WordPress is customizable. And no website should have 48 plugins."
