The Brief
Two locals wanted to build Shadow Mountain Bike Park — a lift-served downhill park in Conifer, Colorado. The vision needed public support, outside investment, and PR to counter organized opposition. The existing website had none of the identity, content, or polish to earn it. The story needed a home that could sell it.
The Process
- Borrowed the ski-resort playbook. Modeled the experience on destination ski sites: a single lift and its trail network presented like a mountain worth traveling to.
- Rebuilt it story-first. Replaced the dated site with a WordPress build that led with the vision and used a pointed FAQ to answer the opposition head-on.
- Designed for the Colorado outdoors. Refreshed the existing logo and built the look around bikes, backcountry, and wildlife, making an unbuilt park feel real and local.
- Brought the mountain to life. Partnered with a local video team on aerial flyovers, founder interviews, and promo content to anchor the site's story and news hub.
- Built in lead capture. Wired the site to collect interest from investors, brand partners, and locals willing to lend a testimonial.

The Outcome
With opposition organized and highly motivated, the proposal for the park was ultimately turned down at the county-level. What remained was a story-driven web presence that gave an unbuilt park a real identity and made its case as well as a website could.
"You can't control the vote, but you can make sure the idea shows up looking like it deserves to win."
